Following the first coronavirus lockdown, it was predicted that staycations would increase in the summer of 2020. There was a rise of Brits holidaying at home, but it is thought that 2021 will see an even greater boom. Both Scottish and UK ministers, including Nicola Sturgeon and Matt Hancock, have clearly stated that they do not recommend booking holidays abroad this year due to much stricter quarantine requirements.
